Loppers are a type of scissors used for pruning twigs and small branches, like pruning shears with very long handles. They are the largest type of manual garden cutting tool.
Trees often tend to grow in strange directions, giving an overall leaning shape. Through lopping, tree loppers remove the branches leaning on one side, thus both giving it a better appearance and removing the excess weight that might contribute to distorting the shape further.
